Each month, Ms. Carrillo is writing and sending home a publication in English and Spanish for parents on any school events and activities happening at Gates School. Parent classes for computer skills and English as a second language began in October. Classes are held in the computer lab each Wednesday evening, from 6:15 to 7:45 PM for Gates parents.
Two mornings a week, Ms. Merlo, Parent Liaison, is teaching the English ESL classes.
An after-school computer class is held every Thursday through an Aurora Foundation grant. The class of 30 students will run through the school year. The after-school tutoring program just began under the Title I program.
